The next two Avengers promise to be full of twists and turns and emotions. Many changes are expected, especially for those we've been following since the beginning of the MCU. This is the case of Chris Hemsworth, present since the beginning, whose destiny could well be turned upside down after Secret Wars.
Avengers: the return of cult characters
The MCU will probably be rebooted after Avengers: Secret Wars. Several characters will be getting a fresh start, and we hope this will be the case for 8 of them in particular. Before turning the page completely, Marvel seems determined to offer a final hurrah to those who made the studio's history in cinema, and not just in the MCU. The announcement of the casting of Avengers: Doomsday delighted many fans, eager to see actors they hadn't seen for a long time. We obviously think of Bryan Singer's X-Men, whose return is highly anticipated. The encounter between them and the iconic heroes of the MCU promises to be memorable, even if the latter risk having the same fate as the former. Endgame broke our hearts by making us say goodbye to Captain America, Black Widow and Iron Man, and the next Avengers probably intend to do the same with Chris Hemsworth's Thor. Chris Hemsworth could say goodbye to the MCU. Thor finds himself in a delicate situation in the MCU. Thor: Love and Thunder was a resounding failure, and the Norse god didn't get a chance to restore his image, making only a brief appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, according to The Comic Circus, the hero could shine one last time in the next Avengers. According to the site, Chris Hemsworth's Thor would bid farewell to the MCU in epic fashion by drawing inspiration from the 32nd issue of volume 3 of the New Avengers comics. Our friend Alex Perez heard a rumor that Marvel wanted to give Chris Hemsworth's Thor an epic outing, with sources pointing to New Avengers (vol. 3) #32 as inspiration. While this could be the end of Chris Hemsworth's Thor, it doesn't rule out the possibility of the character's return, as it has also been said that the Thor Corps, along with other parts of Thor's mythology in the comics, will be adapted into Secret Wars and beyond.
In this issue, Thor, along with the Multiversal Avengers, faces off against the Beyonders. After a fierce battle in which both sides suffer heavy losses, the enemies unleash all their forces on Thor and Hyperion, the last two survivors.Being once again worthy of being able to lift Mjolnir - he had become unworthy at because of Nick Fury -, he and his sidekick lose their lives while giving everything they have against their adversaries. It's an epic ending that we would dream of seeing on screen, both for the character and for his interpreter. After everything that Chris Hemsworth has brought to the MCU, he deserves to have a worthy ending, especially since, as The Comic Circus says, the next generation will be assured.
