Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

While our favorite superheroes are generally stylish, charismatic, and imposing, sometimes the design of their armor or costumes is in poor taste. In any case, we wanted to come back here to these 10 totally failed costumes of our favorite Marvel and DC characters.

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

10) Kitty Pryde

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

Apart from a somewhat generic X-Men jumpsuit, Kitty Pryde doesn't really have a truly identifiable costume. She just wears the colors of the X-Men. Yet, in one of her early appearances, Kitty Pryde wore a horrid, brightly colored costume. Bright colors, a particularly ugly purple spiked mask, large knee-high ski socks, and roller skates on her feet. It's the very definition of kitsch.

9) Rogue

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

In X-Treme X-Men, Rogue trades in her famous yellow and green costume for a failed colorful Matrix cosplay. Developed by Salvador Larroca, this comic book series of questionable quality opted for computer-generated drawings, without real inking, and with bland colors. The opportunity for Rogue to appear in a disgusting red armor, an outdated leather jacket and small red glasses that even Daredevil wouldn't dare wear.

8) Superman

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

Basically, we're not necessarily fans of Superman's costume. The bright red and blue colors, the outdated cape and especially the yellow briefs over the pants, we've seen more charismatic. However, today, it's difficult to dissociate Superman from his iconic costume. In any case, DC has already offered variations of the Superman costume. The proof is in these two Superman costumes that respect the character's color code, while trying to bring in some new blood. We'll let you judge the result.

7) Polaris

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

In the 1990s, Joe Quesada tried to update the X-Men's wardrobe a bit. We were also in an era very focused on the cult of sexuality and the body. And the superhero costumes were increasingly revealing. The proof is poor Polaris, who finds herself trapped in a costume with significantly bad taste...

6) Daredevil

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

Daredevil has had many different costumes. And while most are quite stylish, whether it's his iconic yellow costume, the black costume from Shadowland, or his famous blood red costume, there have also been some failures. The proof is this pseudo-modern costume, which mixes future technology and Japanese style. Flashy outfit, poor Matt Murdock wears particularly ugly metal knee and shoulder pads. Luckily our hero is blind...

5) Thor

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

Leather straps in all directions, metal spikes on the legs, a too-tight t-shirt that leaves his abs exposed, a slightly ugly greenish headband, it is without doubt the worst costume of the God of Thunder... We are closer here to a bondage costume than to an Asgardian God...

4) The Invisible Woman

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

We know that Marvel particularly likes to expose its female characters. But here, it's perhaps a bit too much. A figure 4 cutout instead of a neckline, panties instead of stockings, ridiculously large gloves, frankly, we're in the ultimate bad taste...

3) Wolverine

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

Even if the character's color code is respected, we will always wonder why Logan traded his famous mask for a bandana straight out of a poor street gang. A particularly forgettable costume, which was born just after issue 100 of Wolverine, in the middle of the Onslaught saga. A desire to transform the character, then in the midst of an identity crisis at this time. While the approach of Adam Kubert and Val Semeiks is far from stupid, thus expressing the predominant animality of the character, the aesthetic rendering unfortunately leaves something to be desired.

2) Ironheart

Marvel/DC: The 10 Worst Costumes of Our Favorite Superheroes

Riri Williams makes her first appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Played by Dominique Thorne, this new heroine is destined to take Tony Stark's place in the MCU. Like the former Iron Man, the young woman is a brilliant inventor, an outstanding engineer, capable of manipulating technology with a personal and scientific vision. Except that she put all her brilliant brainpower into creating, arguably, the worst costume in the entire MCU. A disgusting neon red armor, which is not helped by barely finished CGI. We really hope that the Ironheart series will allow it to be given a new design.

1) Batman

How can we not close this top with the famous Batman costume in Batman & Robin? The costume itself isn't necessarily the ugliest on the list, but it's hard to forget Joel Schumacher's close-ups of the buttocks and nipples of the film's various characters, such as Batman, Batgirl, and Robin. In one infamous sequence, our dark and tortured heroes of the DC universe become shallow and ostentatious bimbos. A cult sequence, but in a bad way. And then, in hindsight, it's probably the Dark Knight's worst costume in all his various film adaptations.
