Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: The new mid -range smartphone has some assets in its sleeve

Motorola has big ambitions for the French market and makes no secret of it. At the company's premises in Rueil-Malmaison (92), the team is presenting its Edge 60 Fusion, described as a "tactical product" for the brand, which is aiming for a 10% market share within 2 years. To achieve this, there's no secret: you have to make volume, and the Edge Fusion, which retails for nearly €401, but is easily dipping below €300 with the launch offers, should contribute significantly to this.

Design: curved screen on all four edges

Motorola continues to focus on its partnership with Pantone, and they're right. The result is three rather attractive colors: a gray in vegan leather and pink and turquoise in fiberglass. Unfortunately, the turquoise will not be available on the French market.

Despite its attractive price, the product is designed with care, and comes with a host of certifications that guarantee its protection. The classic IP 68 and IP 69 ratings, protecting against both total immersion and high-temperature water jets, are therefore alongside the military standard STD 810 H.

On the front, the Gorilla Glass 7i is curved on all four sides to make it easier to hold. It protects a 6.7-inch pOLED screen (the p stands for plastic-OLED), the standard size in 2025, with a definition slightly above Full HD 1220p. The brand promises some feats for this screen (4500 nits of peak brightness, 100% of DCI-P3 covered) that will be verified during our full test with the help of 01Lab.

According to Motorola, the partnership with Pantone goes a little further than in previous years since the company specialized in colors would have provided its assistance on the calibration of the screen or even on the colorimetry of the photographs taken by the phone. Moto mentions in particular colors "faithful to Pantone colors, especially on the skin."

To complete the audiovisual part, let us mention the support of Dolby Atmos (even if the exercise is always perilous with two speakers so small) and the High-Res Wireless certification. The smartphone can be classified as a lightweight phone with its 177.5g.

68W charging

Before diving into the new software features, let's dive into the rest of the hardware, starting with photography. With its mid-range price, the Moto Edge 60 Fusion obviously doesn't include a telephoto lens. However, it does have a wide-angle module with a 50MP Sony Lytia 700c sensor that opens at f/1.8. It's supported by an ultra-wide angle with an f/2.2 aperture and a 13MP sensor. The selfie module, which can shoot 4K videos, incorporates a 32MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

In terms of battery life, the smartphone has a relatively large 5200mAh battery. More impressively, it offers 68W charging capable of reaching 50% in 8 minutes. Here again, we will check this with the 01Lab.

Let's quickly go over the chip, a Mediatek Dimensity 7300 engraved in 4 nm which should be perfectly suited to the targeted segment, with enough power to have a fluid experience and graphical power allowing 3D gaming. 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage complete the package, which can be expanded up to 1 TB with a microSD card.

Introduction of Moto AI

AI is on the lips of all manufacturers, and Motorola has therefore chosen, like Samsung, to create its own label: Moto AI. The new features will soon be available on the Razr 50 and 50 Ultra, as well as the Edge 50 Pro.

Overall, the features offered are very standard for 2025. On the photo side, this translates into an image enhancement engine, video stabilization, and better shots on the move. Google's magic eraser is also included.

For creation, similar to what One UI 7 offers on the Galaxy S25, Motorola integrates a system that can create images from a simple prompt, meaning text. This is called Magic Canvas. It's worth noting that Samsung didn't want to integrate it into its mid-range smartphones like the Galaxy A56. Motorola therefore wins a point here.

The last pillar targeted by Moto AI is productivity. Here, we still find very classic features like note-taking and automatic transcription from an audio recording, but also two original features. The first is called Debrief me. It's a sort of improved "do not disturb" mode that will offer you a summary of all your most important notifications once disabled. Nice. The second new element is Remember this, a sort of binder with photos, notes, or screenshots that you don't want to lose in the phone's memory. A good old favorite to categorize all this could have done the trick just as well, no doubt, but it's 2025, so AI is needed.

The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion will be able to count on at least three years of major updates and six years of security patches.

Price and launch offers

The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion is priced at €401.99. The brand is partnering with Boulanger and is offering a fairly aggressive launch offer until April 24 in stores in the northern region. This involves an immediate €50 discount, to which is added a €70 gift card usable in Boulanger stores. Motorola therefore arrives at the sum of €281.99 once all this is added up. Basketball fans will also be able to try to win two tickets to the EuroLeague basketball finals in Abu Dhabi next May.
