One UI 8 (Android 16): Samsung's next interface is already shown in video

While the deployment of One UI 7 is still pending on some Galaxy models, Samsung is already working on the next version: One UI 8. Based on Android 16, this update is starting to leak through preliminary versions, notably on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. And unlike What one might expect from a major new iteration, the first returns reveal a minimal facelift that focuses mainly on technical adjustments and a few new functions.

No revolution for One UI 8 under Android 16

Those expecting visible new features may be disconcerted: One UI 8 seems to be more about continuity. According to leaks relayed by SamMobile, this version brings few visual changes to Samsung's interface. We are not really surprised given the significant visual overhaul that One UI 7 represents compared to the previous version.

Among the few identifiable changes, we note the introduction of Now Brief on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. This function, previously limited to the Galaxy S25 models, would offer a more personalized user experience on more Samsung devices. multimedia, the photo application gains support for the Log format for video, an option popular with editors and videographers for its color flexibility.

Subtle adjustments in Samsung applications

While the main interface has changed little, we can see some changes in the in-house applications. The file manager now has a new semi-transparent menu and a "recently added" section that's easier to view. As for Quick Share, Samsung's local sharing service, it has a two-tab layout: "Send" and "Receive", for greater clarity.

One UI 8 therefore seems to be betting on the maturity by refining the solid foundations of One UI 7 to improve the existing one, rather than seeking to revolutionize its interface.
