Phil Spencer is very 'excited' about the Xbox Portable

The noose is tightening around the "Xbox Portable" project, which is starting to leave little room for doubt. Remember, the first rumors date back to last year, when Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft's gaming branch, mentioned the idea of having a portable console in the Xbox ecosystem.

Subsequently, it was journalist and insider Jez Corden (from Windows Central) who confirmed having heard from his sources that new Microsoft hardware could arrive as early as 2025, and that this new hardware would be a portable Xbox. A few months later, Windows Central provided new information, confirming that the console would be codenamed "Keenan".

Today, it is once again Phil Spencer who is talking about this new portable console during an event organized in on the occasion of Microsoft's 50th anniversary.

Xbox portable: announcement soon?

Phil Spencer is very 'excited' about the Xbox Portable

A few days ago, to celebrate Microsoft's 50th anniversary, Phil Spencer was invited to a panel to conduct an interview with Justine Ezarik. During the discussion, the question of the famous Xbox Portable, which would be produced in partnership with Asus, was raised. Of course, Phil Spencer did not answer directly the question, dodging it a little. On the other hand, it gives a pretty clear clue about Microsoft's intentions:

Phil Spencer therefore does not confirm that an Xbox Portable is in preparation or the partnership with Asus. On the other hand, this statement clearly alludes to a project in preparation for quite some time already. With the approach of the Summer Game Fest (in June), there is a chance that this machine could be announced at that time. To be continued then.
