In all likelihood, one of the PS Plus Essential games for May 2025 has already leaked. The announcement shouldn't be too long now, but Sony Interactive Entertainment has reportedly decided to please horror fans by offering Until Dawn Remake. This wouldn't be a particular surprise, as this new version was unfortunately a failure and failed to find its audience, leading to the closure of the Ballistic Moon studio. Its arrival in PlayStation Plus is therefore more than likely, even if nothing is official at the time of writing.
A free PlayStation Plus Essential game in difficulty
By pure coincidence, it turns out that a horror game offered in PlayStation Plus Essential in 2023 seems to be encountering major difficulties. Several Internet users have noticed that Evil Dead the Game is being discreetly delisted from the PlayStation Store and the Epic Games Store. So we checked on our side and in both cases, it is impossible to access the official pages of the game on these stores. We get errors like in our screenshots below. However, on Xbox and PC stores like Steam, nothing seems to have changed. The title is still available for purchase with a promotion currently underway for Microsoft platforms.
This good PlayStation Plus Essential game which has been brought to you offered could well be deleted. and disappear completely. And if we're feeling rather pessimistic, it's because of a statement from Tim Willits, chief creative officer of Saber Interactive, which published Evil Dead the Game. A user wanted to know why the software was delisted from the PS Store and Epic Games, and if it was a harbinger of a server shutdown.
"We will keep the servers up as long as possible" replied Willits, without even a word about the disappearance of Evil Dead the Game from certain stores. A vague statement, to say the least, which is not reassuring. While PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers still seem to be able to play it today, what will happen in just two months? There's some doubt about the future of Evil Dead the Game after all these discoveries. If you haven't tried it and you're a fan of Sam Raimi's work, it deserves at least a little of your attention to see all the love the developers have put into the franchise.
