After more than 8 years of chaotic development, Skull and Bones has been released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. And after investing so much money, and sweat for the developers, Ubisoft is keen to at least try to make its game break through a little. To achieve this, content is of course needed, and Season 1 of Year 2, Ascent to Chaos, has been available since April 15, 2025. It includes, among other things, a PS5 Pro optimization and a major loot overhaul. In May, there will also be a new PvP feature "Deadly Tides." A team mode where you will have to capture and control different points on the map.
Skull and Bones wants to hunt in the lands of AC Black Flag
These are just a small glimpse of the new features of Year 2 of Skull and Bones, which will have a total of four seasons, as before. Season 1 "Ascension to Chaos" is now available; Season 2 "Oaths of War" in summer 2025, which will add the frigate and a faction system; Season 3 "Courage and Glory" in the fall of 2025, which will introduce a new threat, the ability to assign any rescued officer; and Season 4, "The Eye of the Beast," which will usher in the arrival of a "massive" Kraken in Skull and Bones, the Hunters' Guild to become a master marine creature hunter, and even new ships.
Skull and Bones is far from dead and is even slowly getting closer to Assassin's Creed Black Flag. How? With the implementation of land combat in Season 3. Yes, it will no longer be necessary to fight only at sea, but also on land. Like in Black Flag. Major new content that might just convince more players to jump on board. As a reminder, a 6-hour free trial to discover Skull and Bones is still available on consoles and PC.
