Spider-Man: Brand New Day recently made headlines at CinemaCon 2025 by revealing its official title. Marvel, however, remains discreet about the next adventure of its most famous superhero. The film is, however, at the center of numerous rumors, one of the latest of which suggests the return of a cult character from the franchise.
Spider-Man Brand New Day: Between Doubts and Confirmations
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we know everything and nothing at once. Several pieces of information are pouring in regarding this fourth opus, but few have been confirmed. This is particularly true for the question of the villain. Insider MyTimeToShineHello had claimed some time ago that the main antagonist would be a woman. About ten days later, it was reported that Marvel was looking for an Asian actor between 30 and 50 years old for a major role. Eyes obviously turned to Mister Negative, a well-known villain from Insomniac Games' video games. The question of the antagonist, or antagonists, therefore remains quite complex, but for the other aspects of the casting, we have had a big confirmation.
Tom Holland will probably be absent from Avengers: Doomsday, which means he will give everything he has in the next Spider-Man. He will not be alone, however. Indeed, the actor will be accompanied by Sadie Sink. It remains to be seen We still don't know what role the Stranger Things star will play in the film, although we have a few ideas in mind. Finally, a third thief could also join the adventure, except that we've already seen him, and not just in the MCU.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day promises to be as crazy as the next two Avengers films. The fourth installment in the Spider-Man adventures should also benefit from a robust cast that will delight fans. Insider DanielRPK has indicated that a cult character could make a return. Those who remember Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy will know him very well, as he's J. Jonah Jameson. Already Present in the two previous MCU installments, he should return once again to complicate Spider-Man's life.
The return of J.K. Simmons in her iconic role would not be surprising given the direction the saga seems to be taking. Peter Parker is about to experience a new beginning, and we can imagine that he will reconnect with his comic book counterpart by working for the Daily Bugle. Tom Holland would continue the tradition started in cinema by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, but probably in a different way, since TheDailyBugle.net is present on many networks, and no longer only in print. It would therefore be interesting to discover these new working methods, as well as the relationship that this Peter Parker could have with the journalist.
