It was during Star Wars Celebration Japan in Tokyo that we were treated to some information regarding volume 3 of Star Wars: Visions as well as the announcement of a new spin-off series that will be dedicated to the Ninth Jedi.
Lucasfilms gives information on volume 3 of Star Wars: Visions
Star Wars Celebration Japan is an opportunity for fans of the franchise to stock up on announcements. Thus, the series Star Wars: Visions has been making waves with its Volume 3, which revealed the next stories in images. We know that Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, which will arrive next October on Disney+, will offer fans the continuation of three stories from Volume 1, namely The Duel with Ronin directed again by Takanobu Mizuno, The Village Bride under the direction of Hitoshi Haga and The Ninth Jedi supervised by by Naoyoshi Shiotani.
The Ninth Jedi Gets a Spin-Off Series
And it was during this panel dedicated to Star Wars: Visions that Disney announced that a spin-off series centered on the Ninth Jedi was currently in development. Entitled Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi, the series will tell a story over several episodes.
The series, devoted entirely to This character from the Ninth Jedi has also revealed his logo.
For his part, James Waugh, executive producer of Star Wars: Visions affirmed that this spin-off series will offer "a bold new direction" for Visions. Behind Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi is director and writer Kenji Kamiyama, who directed The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, and animation studio Production IG, which brought us the short film The Ninth Jedi, which aired on Disney+ in 2021.
As a reminder, in The Ninth Jedi, the story ends with the departure of Lah Kara who goes in search of her father, the blacksmith Lah Zhima, who is said to have invented lightsabers that change color according to the Force, detained on a planet controlled by the Sith.
Guest During the panel, director Kenji Kamiyama announced that the series should answer many secrets surrounding these lightsabers. The spin-off series centered on The Ninth Jedi does not yet have a release date but is expected sometime in 2026.
As for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, the new episodes will be available from October 29, 2025 on Disney+.
