And four! It's good to be anthology fans this spring on Netflix. The day before the launch of Black Mirror season 7, the American platform is giving news of another futuristic and completely crazy production. Six years after its launch, Love, Death + Robots is getting a fourth batch of episodes... and very soon. On its social networks, the American company is sharing a first trailer along with a launch date for this batch. The date is set for May 15th. This fourth season is defined by its creator as a "mechanical madness" and it's hard not to take him at his word when discovering the first images.
Tim Miller, known for bringing the first part of the adventures of Deadpool to the big screen, explains that he has opted for "a mix of horror, science fiction and fantasy". A whole program for this volume which will involve ten new stories with very different inspirations and aesthetics. From ultra-realistic 3D to claimation, there will be something for everyone.
Like its predecessors, this new season relies on talent and artistic flair to make a splash. While the details of the stories aren't yet known, we can already say that the episode involving dinosaurs caught our attention. In any case, the series won't be for everyone. Tim Miller has said several times that his series was born from a desire to make adult animation in a West that doesn't produce many such productions. They will be served.
An episode by David Fincher
As a reminder, Tim Miller is rather well surrounded for this project, since he can count on the presence of David Fincher as executive producer. Since season 3, Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2) has been in charge of supervision. The three companions have also moved on to direct an episode, with three of these new adventures being directed by their own hands. Fincher delivered his first animated project in 2022 for season 3. He was responsible for the chapter "Bad Trip," which followed a sailor facing a strange and recalcitrant crustacean. It was one of the highlights of the third volume. We can hope that he delivers a story at least as distressing with his second attempt in the field.
To find out more, and probably have a more precise description of the episodes, we will have to wait a few more weeks with the publication of a more exhaustive trailer. In any case, Netflix is giving its subscribers an appointment on May 15th. As is the tradition on the American platform, all episodes will be offered from the first day.
