The Fantastic Four: First Steps gets a new trailer: it's explosive

After a first look last February that set the mood for the retro-futuristic film, Marvel Studios is moving up a gear with a new, much more substantial trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps! This new trailer finally offers an in-depth look at the action, the heroes' powers (there's even the H.E.R.B.I.E. robot) and gives us a nice glimpse of Julia Garner in action as Shalla-Bal, the Silver Surfer:

The trailer also reveals that Sue is pregnant and preparing to become a mother. Although not named, this child is presumed to be Franklin Richards. In addition to the confrontation with Galactus, the film therefore seems to explore the origin of the team, as well as their personal and familial challenges. The Fantastic Four team will also be integrated into the famous MCU multiverse.

The film, which will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025, will mark the first appearance of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since Marvel Studios acquired the rights to the franchise. The Fantastic Four: First Steps will follow Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), played by by Pedro Pascal, Sue Storm (the Invisible Woman), played by Vanessa Kirby, Johnny Storm (the Human Torch), played by Joseph Quinn, and Ben Grimm (the Thing), played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, as they face their greatest threat yet: the survival of Earth against Galactus.

An important film for Marvel

In a delicate phase, Marvel is playing big with what appears to be its most exciting project of the year. The same goes for Fantastic Four, which received a mixed reception with three feature films at 20th Century Fox. Always popular with comic book readers, the superhero team will be keen to relaunch itself and relaunch the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Note that the release of this trailer is accompanied by a new official poster:
