The Mandalorian and Grogu: Live from Star Wars Celebration 2025

[liveblog]

In 2023, Disney and Lucasfilm surprised the crowd gathered at the ExCeL Exhibition Center in London. For the Star Wars Celebration, the two entities had pulled out all the stops. Three films were announced for the occasion, to be released in 2026 and 2027. While the aftermath of The Rise of Skywalker was uncertain, Lucasfilm was banking on Rey Skywalker, the birth of the Jedi, and the duo Mando and Baby Yoda to generate revenue. This last project was particularly surprising, as the series was then promised to a fourth season.

Jon Favreau is directing while Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy are working as producers. As the months went by, in addition to the obvious participation of Pedro Pascal, Disney, still kept secret, Lateef Crowder and Jonny Coyne were also mobilized for the occasion. In December 2024, the film secured the services of Jeremy Allen White, Hollywood's darling since The Bear. He will lend his voice to the son of Jabba the Hutt.

This addition then offered some interesting perspectives on the project, Tatooine could be at the epicenter of the story. We can also imagine that the film picks up the wagons with The Book of Boba Fett which saw the bounty hunter seize the title of crime lord after the death of Jabba. Nearly a year before its release, The Mandalorian & Grogu finally offers first images. As usual, the galaxy far, far away is holding back its effects and offering a first glimpse on stage. Follow the announcements live.
