GTA 4: the long-awaited return?
GTA 4 is undoubtedly the GTA that has divided the most. The title was released in 2008, at the very beginning of the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation. The game comes after the GTA San Andreas tsunami, with its very rich content, its crazy storyline, its colorful characters and its fun pushed to the limits.
For its part, GTA 4 is much darker, much more serious, it does not offer many secondary activities with much more modest content than San Andreas. For many years, players shunned the game. Before it experienced a real resurgence in popularity.
Today, fans have been waiting and hoping for a port of Niko Bellic's adventures for several years. It could be the case soon.
According to insider TezFunz2, who is very well-known in the Rockstar Games community, a port of GTA 4 has been in the works for some time. Work on the latter has reportedly progressed well over the past year, and a release at the end of 2025 is possible. At another time, Rockstar Games would also be preparing a port of Max Payne 3 for current consoles.
This second port would arrive after that of GTA 4, to be released close to the remake of Max Payne 1 & 2 which is currently in development at the Remedy studio (Alan Wake).
With the postponement of GTA6 to May 26, 2026, a port of GTA4 for the end of the year would be a good way to keep players waiting.
