AD Laurent, a famous French influencer, is in the government's crosshairs. This former reality TV contestant, who turned to porn in 2021, is in the sights of Aurore Bergé, the Minister Delegate for Gender Equality. Find out why below.
AD Laurent, controversial content creator
At almost 31 years old, Adrien Laurent, a.k.a. AD Laurent, is known for his participation in several reality TV shows such as Les Princes de l'Amour, Les Anges, La Villa des Coeurs Brisés, Les Apprentis Aventuriers, Friends Trip... In 2021, his popularity on social networks allowed him to take a professional turn. The young man began a career in the pornography industry mainly in the United States, developing his content on adult sites like Mym. And it is precisely this career that bothers the French government, at war with porn sites. On TikTok, AD Laurent has more than 1.8 million subscribers, a huge community. However, according to Aurore Bergé, the Minister for Gender Equality, he propagates "a distorted and toxic vision of sexuality where domination and violence take precedence over respect and consent".
AD Laurent's content soon to be removed from TikTok?

According to our colleagues at RTL, "Aurore Bergé, wrote on Wednesday, May 14, to the French boss of the Chinese platform[Adam Presser, in office since 2023] to urge him to respect his commitments regarding the protection of minors." Indeed, AD Laurent posts controversial and very trashy content on his social networks, in which he promotes an aggressive and dominant masculinity. He is also the subject of a complaint filed in March 2024 for aggravated rape dating from 2018. The influencer was in Australia at the time, where he is accused of having twice raped a young woman (aged 22 at the time of the events), previously met in a nightclub. During the lockdown, he had already attracted attention for live posts on Instagram bordering on pornography, which had earned him a ban from the platform. Aurore Bergé's letter also mentions:
Repeated live sessions with young girls, whose age is difficult to determine because they appear so young, during which he makes constant sexual innuendos, videos describing violent and non-consensual sexual practices, which characterizes sexual assault, or even sequences in which the influencer "boasts of numerous conquests" and establishes "a classification of women according to whether they would be for the night or for life".
Internet users react to these accusations
On X, Internet users have not failed to reactto the umpteenth controversy that has hit AD Laurent: there are those who point out the existence of a double standard between men and women, and those who are pleased to see the controversial influencer targeted by the government.
This is the first time I agree with Aurore Bergé, this golmon has no place on an application consumed mainly by children.

But all the girls who promote their OF and MYM, what are they planning to do? because no one says anything.

I salute the initiative of @auroreberge against hypersexualization. Acting against AD Laurent's content means protecting our young people.

When distorted figures become role models, we put an entire generation in danger.

There is a lot of very problematic content conveying a distorted and toxic vision of sexuality, domination, and violence that takes precedence over consent. AD Laurent is not the only one concerned! The others too...
Remember that the French government wants to ban social networks like TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat for younger users, as they are accused of having harmful side effects on children. Will TikTok take responsibility as the minister asks? Watch this space!
