Amazon Prime Video has just unveiled the first trailer for the new Spider-Man series. Beware, there's a twist, since it's not the Spider-Man played by Tom Holland, but a completely different incarnation: Spider-Noir.
Spider-Man is back, and it's not on Disney+. Sony is collaborating with MGM for a live-action series centered not around the MCU Spider-Man played by Tom Holland, but on another version: Spider-Noir.
This series will air on MGM+ in the United States, and on Amazon Prime Video in the rest of the world. It will tell us the adventures of Spider-Noir, a version of Spider-Man who evolves in an alternative New York of the 1930s. Plunged into a world where corruption reigns, our then aging hero will have to put the mask back on in an adventure that promises to wisely use the clichés of film noir. Amazon has specified that the series will be broadcast in two versions: a classic color one and another in black and white to stick as closely as possible to the atmosphere of the genre. A relevant choice.
Spider-Noir is played by a surprising actor
This Spider-Noir, you must know him if you have seen Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, an animated film released in 2019 which saw several versions of the superhero collaborate. The character was then played by Nicolas Cage, who lent him his voice in the original version. It is he who takes up the mask for this eight-episode series.

In addition to Cage, the series will be carried by Lamorne Norris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez and Jack Huston. Oren Uziel (The Secret of the Lost City) as well as Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) serve as showrunners while Harry Bradbeer directs the first two episodes.
You will have to be patient before diving into the sticky atmosphere promised by the series. It is indeed scheduled for 2026 on Amazon Prime Video in our country. It is in any case interesting to see that outside of the MCU, Sony wants to continue to exploit the Spider-Man license purchased from Marvel in the 1990s, despite the failures of the films dedicated to super-villains (Venom, Kraven, Morbius and Madame Web).
