Well aware that the Assassin's Creed franchise can be a solid lifeline for the future, Ubisoft is actively working on future installments. To date, between rumors and official announcements, there are reportedly nine in progress. Some are already at an advanced stage, while others are still at a very early stage. Overall, one will be particularly anticipated after Shadows: Project Scarlet. Indeed, new details have reportedly leaked.
Assassin's Creed Scarlet is said to be lacking in ambition
After the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows last March, future installments are expected to arrive by the end of 2025 or in 2026. These include the "Jade" project, an officially announced mobile game set in China, and apparently the Black Flag remake, which the teams are reportedly working on internally under the codename "Obsidian." But as for the next big exclusive adventure, we'll have to wait a little longer. Nevertheless, this famous 'Scarlet' would not be one of the franchise's least advanced creations.
According to Insider Gaming, "Assassin's Creed Scarlet" would be the next big action-RPG in this universe. That is to say, it would take up the gameplay formula launched with Origins in 2017. The more our colleagues learn about it, the more they make the connection with another opus in preparation: the "Nebula" project. In the end, everything would lead us to believe that the two titles would ultimately form one. By this, understand that Scarlet would be the famous AC installment taking place between the Mediterranean, the Aztec Empire, and India.
Moreover, renowned informant Tom Henderson tried to establish Ubisoft's roadmap. According to the reports that have reached him, the new big RPG would be the next game to be released after Hexe, the opus taking place in 16th century Europe. However, the latter should be released after the end of support for Assassin's Creed Shadows, which itself is scheduled to last two years. This would therefore take us back to 2027 + 1 year for Scarlet, or 2028.
