Two weeks ago, Ubisoft unveiled a substantial roadmap for Assassin's Creed Shadows for the game's first year after launch. This includes new content such as quests, and the first DLC, called "The Claws of Awaji." It also highlighted highly requested changes, some of which will arrive as part of a new major update by the end of May 2025.
By the end of May, Assassin's Creed Shadows is being updated with highly requested changes
Like previous installments, Assassin's Creed Shadows will receive fairly long-term support, with plans already well-established for its first year after its release on March 20, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. Ubisoft intends to encourage players to regularly return to feudal Japan with Naoe and Yasuke. This roadmap will already make a first stop by the end of May 2025 with a major update, codenamed 1.0.5.
This will notably implement the changes particularly requested for Assassin's Creed Shadows. First, we have a significant overhaul of parkour, which is far from unanimous in its current state. This central element of the gameplay of a game of the license will thus be enriched with improved high jumps, lateral, vertical and backward ejections, as well as the ability to grab onto more elements of the scenery. This should greatly suit the shinobi Naoe, and to a lesser extent Yasuke. This 1.0.5 update will also refine Photo Mode by adding new filters, varied poses, facial expressions, and even an option to turn off background music.
Finally, this update will mark the addition of a first "special collaboration" in Assassin's Creed Shadows. For the moment, the content of this one remains a mystery. So, see you in the coming days to find out what's behind it. Other updates of a similar scope will then arrive in the coming months, including the addition in July of the highly requested New Game Plus mode, which will also push the level cap beyond 60 to make Naoe and Yasuke even more powerful.
