Marvel Studios is preparing the return of the Avengers with Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for May 2026 in theaters. Currently, the film's crews are filming in England, and despite all the precautions taken by the production to avoid leaks, images from a film set for the feature film have just been released online, featuring the X-Mansion, a Sentinel, and statues.

Filming for Avengers: Doomsday has just begun

Marvel has announced that the Avengers will be returning to action, notably with the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU. After playing Tony Stark aka Iron Man for several years, the actor will make a comeback as Doctor Doom. He will play the film's main villain after the studio was forced to revise its plans following the Jonathan Majors affair, who had made an appearance as Kang the Conqueror and was supposed to succeed Thanos.

For the occasion, Robert Downey Jr. will reunite with Anthony and Joe Russo for Avengers: Doomsday. They stepped up to direct this new installment after the box office success of Avengers: Endgame. Moreover, the directors had declared last March that they were going to adopt this fierce strategy to combat leaks for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. It must be said that this strategy is not necessarily the best... A Sentinel, the X-Mansion, ... a leak reveals details about Avengers: Doomsday Indeed, filming for Doomsday began last month at Pinewood Studios in England under the secret name Apple Pie 1. While filming is scheduled to last six months, images from one of the production sets have just leaked. This leak is thanks to UnBoxPHD, who shared some images from the set of a sequence from the Marvel film. On these, we can see what appears to be a Sentinel, or at least some parts of it, this 6-meter-tall mutant-hunting robot that can be seen in the X-Men comics. This one is in a bad position, lying on the ground.

We can also see statues. This film set could be a setting to represent the X-Mansion.

Mutants will therefore be part of this Avengers adventure. While Charles Xavier and his team are used to facing Sentinels, the question is who could have sent them. Was it Doctor Doom? He has already sent his Doomsbots to hunt down mutants and humans in the comics. Even though the X-Men regularly face these threats, it could be that this Sentinel is not part of the antagonist's plans. But who sent it?
