Baldur's Gate 3 will unfortunately no longer receive any new content after the final patch 8, but Larian Studios wants to make sure it is left in the hands of the community in the best possible state. To this end, a new update called "Hotfix 32" is already available and will correct several elements that had still escaped the developers after the release of the last major patch.
New fixes in the story of Baldur's Gate 3
As a reminder, patch 8 of Baldur's Gate 3 introduced very big changes, including new subclasses, but also a photo mode, cross-play, and split-screen co-op. This feature is not easy to implement, and which caused patch 8 to remain in the stress test phase for a long time. Despite all the precautions taken by Larian Studios, a few bugs have unfortunately slipped through the net. After Hotfix 31 deployed last week, here is a 32nd patch that fixes what can be fixed.
Thus, this Hotfix 32 of Baldur's Gate 3 pays particular attention to performance improvements or untimely crashes related to cross-play or split-screen cooperation. It also fixes various gameplay bugs caused by the arrival of new subclasses, as well as an issue related to cross-play when a game was created without this feature enabled. Finally, the user interface also receives some fixes, particularly concerning the mod manager.
In addition to the Baldur's Gate 3 Hotfix 32 notes, which you can find on this page and in the source below, Larian Studios has released a press release to explain in more detail how to create a cross-play game. If you want to launch a campaign with friends who have the game on other platforms, you have a complete guide to do so in the best conditions, in the same blog post as the Hotfix 32 notes. Note that this could be one of the last patches for Baldur's Gate 3, as Larian Studios is now seriously looking into these next two games, which are expected to be "extremely ambitious."
