The Sims 4 is getting a new update soon, here's what's changing

As usual, Electronic Arts has shared a new Laundry List for The Sims 4, announcing the fixes planned for the next game update. Published on May 20, 2025, this list provides an overview of identified bugs and issues already being resolved.

A more transparent approach to technical support for The Sims 4

In fact, it's been a year since EA established a team dedicated to handling technical issues in The Sims 4. Since then, the developers have been regularly publishing these "Laundry Lists." These are real technical bulletins that detail the main bugs reported by players.

Over the months, more than seven lists have been published, with several hundred fixes, both large and small. This initiative aims to improve transparency between developers and the community. In particular, by explaining how bugs are identified, investigated, corrected, and then deployed via updates.

The main bugs to be corrected soon

Here are the problems already identified for the upcoming update on The Sims 4:

  • Bugs related to fishing areas in Sulani
  • Recurring quests that reappear after traveling to another lot
  • Unable to place certain objects like the false “Rock Solid” partition
  • Display problems for plants like “Olive You Forever”
  • Missing textures on elements like the “Wave Goodbye” screen
  • Positioning issues with some wall-mounted toilets, now fixed

Also, other issues are still being investigated, such as:

  • Weather effects that appear inside buildings, which severely disrupts gameplay
  • Corrupted save files, an issue reported by many players. More than eight variations of this issue have been identified, some of which still require additional information for the teams to reproduce.

EA strongly encourages affected Sims 4 players to share their experiences on the forums, to enrich bug reports and speed up fixes. Although no specific date has been given, everything indicates that the next update for The Sims 4 should arrive within a few days. This patch could also set the stage for the next content planned in the Enchanted by Nature roadmap, recently teased.
