Despite the fanfare release of Oblivion Remastered, it apparently hasn't overshadowed Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Praised by critics and players alike, the RPG from French studio Sandfall Interactive has enjoyed a success that has even exceeded its creators' expectations. In addition to offering sublime artistic direction, an exciting story and deep gameplay, the game also hides numerous easter eggs that many may miss, like the one that interests us here.
A painting full of subtle secrets in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Despite a decidedly dark universe in which an entire age group is erased each year, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is not lacking in humor, unusual winks and slightly childish secrets. The title's prologue, which marks the Erasure of all the inhabitants of Lumière aged 33, is full of them. From the first minute, we can notably notice a nod to Shrek in the form of his bathroom door.
As we continue our journey towards the docks with Gustave and Sophie, we can find other little secrets more or less well hidden in the first hours of Clair Obscur. One of them is particularly naughty and very easy to miss. In a street, we can interact with a door, behind which a couple lives their last carnal moments before disappearing. By persisting for a long time, one player received a rather hilarious reaction, and even a reward, and shared their discovery on the subreddit dedicated to Chiaroscuro.
The couple will indeed end up getting annoyed by this unhealthy curiosity, with one woman shouting: "That's enough, you've eavesdropped long enough! At first it was exciting, but now it's weird! Take this and go, okay? Do it together somewhere else while you're at it!", with a Lumicolor thrown in for good measure. We bet this isn't the last well-hidden surprise players will discover during their Expedition in Clair Obscur.
