DAZN will broadcast this next major sporting event for free!

A sports streaming platform, DAZN has obtained the exclusive worldwide rights to broadcast the 2025 Club World Cup. But unlike industry practice, where major competitions are often locked behind paid subscriptions, DAZN has decided to offer all 63 matches for free via its app. Simply create a free account to access it, without a credit card or commitment.

It's a clear strategy: attract a new audience and raise awareness of its "freemium" offer, recently launched in France. This free version already allows you to follow events such as the Women's Champions League or certain exclusive content. With this strong gesture around the Club World Cup, DAZN intends to make a big splash and establish itself as a key player in sports streaming.

TF1 also in the dance

DAZN will not be the only one to broadcast the matches. The TF1 group has also secured the rights to two key matches: the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Atlético Madrid, scheduled for Sunday, June 15 at 9 p.m., as well as the grand finale, scheduled for Sunday, July 13 at 9 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast free-to-air on the first channel. With this sharing of rights, the Club World Cup is gaining maximum visibility, both via streaming and traditional television. A hybrid model that could well herald a new era for major sporting competitions.

Organized from June 15 to July 13, 2025, this first edition promises to be a significant highlight before the summer holidays. The format is evolving: 32 clubs divided into 8 groups of 4, for a total of 63 matches played in 12 stadiums across the United States. The top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 16, in a format very similar to that of a traditional FIFA World Cup. Among the qualified clubs will be the biggest teams in world football, including Real Madrid, Manchester City, Flamengo, Al Ahly, and PSG.

A new era of sports broadcasting?

The decision to offer such a competition free-to-air is far from trivial. It marks a strategic turning point, at the crossroads between accessibility, audience engagement, and the digital transformation of sport. For DAZN, it's an opportunity to differentiate itself in an ultra-competitive landscape dominated by beIN, Canal+, and Amazon Prime Video.

For viewers, it's a rare opportunity: to enjoy a prestigious tournament, with the best clubs in the world, without paying anything. At a time when inflation is also affecting sports subscriptions, and where IPTV is still king, this free offer comes at the perfect time!
