Disney opens its 7th Disneyland resort in Abu Dhabi

Disney didn't do things by halves for the official announcement of the opening of its future Disneyland theme park in Abu Dhabi. This Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the big-eared firm invited a number of guests to Yas Island for the occasion, with the presence of international personalities such as Tyrese Gibson, Naomi Campbell, Nancy Ajram and Ed Westwick.

This new Disneyland theme park does not yet have an official name, but we know that it is Miral, in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company, which will be responsible for its financing, construction and management. Disney Imagineers will oversee its design. Just like with Tokyo Disney Resort, Disney is not investing directly but will receive royalties for the use of its intellectual property.

The future Disney-made leisure destination will be located on Yas Island, which is already home to Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, and Sea World. The goal of this project is to offer a destination where visitors will be immersed in a world that blends the culture of the United Arab Emirates with the magic of the Disney world. The audience was treated to a live musical performance by the famous pianist Lang Lang and a breathtaking drone show.
