While JRPG fans are impatient to be able to dive back into the world of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 thanks to its remake, Square Enix continues to pamper that of Dragon Quest 3, released at the end of 2024. As proof, a new update was recently deployed for the game on all platforms, and it brings many new features at different levels.
Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake Patch Note
Note that the patch in question allowed the game to enter its version 1.2.0.0 on PC, while it is displayed as version 1.1.0.0 on PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch. However, it is indeed the same update. This should make the gaming experience more enjoyable for Dragon Quest 3 Remake players. Enough to keep them busy while they wait for news of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 Remake, which could well take advantage of the Summer Game Fest to show off and reveal its release date, currently announced for 2025 without further details. Here are the full patch notes for this Dragon Quest 3 Remake update:
Exploration
- Increased the speed of boat and Ramia's back.
- Adjustments to prevent boat movement speed from resetting when the menu is opened or when combat is triggered while traveling by boat.
- Added functionality to switch between automatic and manual flight by pressing the menu button while flying on Ramia's back.
Vocations
- Increased the critical hit rate of the Hero and Martial Artist in Dragon Quest 3 Remake.
- Increased the power of the Hero's attacks: "Falcon Strike" and "Giant-Size".
- The power of the Warrior's ability: "Cleaver" has has been increased.
- The Priest can now equip the duplicate headdress.
- The Monsterologist's ability: "Monster Reinforcement" has been changed to reduce its power until all monsters have been found, and to inflict a random number of attacks between 3 and 5.
- The amount of MP consumed by the Monsterologist's ability: "Wild State" has been changed to 30.
Dragon Quest 3 Remake Battles
- A limit has been placed on the number of times per turn that certain monsters can perform certain actions.
- Adjustments to certain monsters: they can no longer use "Ultimate Defense" during a turn immediately after becoming the last monster in battle.
- Increased the resistance to status ailments for bosses on "Draconian Quest" difficulty. ".
- Adjustments have been made to make it more difficult for enemies and allies to suffer the same status ailments consecutively.
- Defeating certain monsters (Metal Chimera and Strong Hand) now grants more experience points.
- Defeat defense has been reduced for all monsters in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, except for metal monsters.
- Minor adjustments to damage dealing.
Miscellaneous
- After your first visit to the Medal Hall, it will be added to your Teleport destination list.
- Added a hotkey feature that allows you to assign spells and abilities to certain keys. For more information, please see the in-game Traveler's Tips.
- In the Shrine of Trials, the number of Elven Elixirs that must be returned to the guard has been changed to 10.
- A treasure chest has been added to the Shrine of Trials in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, allowing players to obtain an additional Gringham's Whip.
- Fixed an issue that caused Stat values to double when leveling up after using a Seed of Life or a Seed of Magic.
- Changed: In cases where trophies and achievements were not correctly obtained, select Miscellaneous > Info in the menu allows you to get some of them again.
- Various minor issues have been fixed in Dragon Quest 3 Remake.
