Echo Pro: the bike helmet that fits all heads

Echo Pro: the bike helmet that fits all heads

Most cyclists are familiar with this frustration: a helmet that's too big and keeps moving, despite all the adjustments you can make. This is exactly the problem that the Echo Pro, developed by the young Dutch company Headfirst in partnership with the design studio APE Amsterdam, aims to solve.

Active safety that fits everyone

The secret of this new helmet lies in its patented SafeFit system. Unlike traditional models, the Echo Pro combines a fixed front section for maximum protection with adjustable sides and a back section. "You simply push the helmet onto your head, and its flexible internal structure automatically adapts to the unique shape of each skull," explains Daan Zoetmulder, founder of Headfirst. To remove it, two buttons on the sides allow you to loosen the assembly in one move.

This approach ensures such a precise fit that the helmet feels tailor-made, whether for an adult or a child. The result: better protection in the event of an accident and increased comfort in everyday life.

The Echo Pro also stands out for its durable design. Unlike the EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam found in most current helmets, which crushes irreversibly at the slightest impact, this model uses multi-impact EPP (expanded polypropylene) foam. As long as the ABS outer shell remains intact, the helmet can withstand several minor impacts without requiring immediate replacement.

This feature significantly extends the product's lifespan and is part of an eco-responsible approach. The helmet also incorporates recycled materials, particularly in the chin strap, and is easily disassembled to facilitate the recycling of each component at the end of its life.

To improve road safety, the Echo Pro features a smart rear brake light, equipped with an accelerometer. As soon as the cyclist decelerates suddenly, the light automatically illuminates to alert following vehicles. The integrated lithium battery charges in one hour and provides 6.5 hours of battery life.

Available in black, beige, and green, the helmet weighs between 470 and 500 grams depending on the size. It exceeds EN 10878 and CPSC safety standards, and remains approved for skateboarding and scootering.

Currently in a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter until June 2025, the Echo Pro has already raised more than 25% of its goal. Early backers can purchase it for €92 (compared to the expected retail price of €123), with deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter.
