Iron Man, Spider-Man, the X-Men... One of the members of the Fantastic Four team will face off against the other Marvel superheroes in an issue that promises to be epic. Before facing Galactus on the big screen, the team will have to face a threat from within!
Marvel All-On-One #1: The Thing vs. the Rest of the World
Despite his appearance as a big, thick brute, the Thing has a big heart and a touching sensitivity. It's therefore quite surprising that Marvel chose to make him the bad guy in its one-shot Marvel All-On-One #1! Under the pen of Ryan North and the pencil of Ed McGuinness, Ben Grimm will find himself thrown against the other superheroes of the House of Ideas, including those of his family. The plot will see him return to Earth after a mission in space, tired, and discover a world prey to animosity towards him. His own friends in the Fantastic Four have turned their backs on him, as well as the other vigilantes of the planet, and he feels abandoned in New York. Between combat and inner journey, the story promises to show us a new side of the Thing.
An issue that promises to be explosive
Scheduled for publication on August 20, Marvel All-On-One #1 will consist entirely of full-page or double-page illustrations. A special format that promises its share of titanic battles, of course, but also more tender or moving moments, as Ben Grimm sets out in search of answers. Ryan North does not hide his enthusiasm for this story:
Ed McGuinness is a modern legend, and working with him will obviously be an exciting experience. But working with him on an issue that's so big, so explosive, and so action-packed that it has to be told with only full pages or full-page spreads, well, that's literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Every page is a showcase for the artist, but it's also the biggest Thing story I've ever told, and there are a ton of very fun battles. And the emotion, too? Moments of recognition and self-discovery? It was a pleasure to write this issue, and that pleasure is even greater every day, as I watch Ed bring each page to spectacular life.
A story that Fantastic Four fans won't want to miss!
