What's stronger than Venom and stronger than Godzilla? Look no further! In the latest Marvel crossover, the famous Japanese monster and the Symbiote merge to create a terrifying creature with tenfold powers, even more impressive than the Godzilla / Silver Surfer mix.
Marvel x Godzilla, the battle of the monsters
In March, we shared with you a few pages of the crossover between Spider-Man and Godzilla, which teased the fate of Venom. We weren't wrong, and the Symbiote has indeed taken possession of the giant lizard, becoming a monstrous creature bristling with ridges, razor-sharp teeth, and a sharp tongue. Godzilla is the most powerful host ever possessed by Venom, adding his darkness to the beast's colossal strength. Knull, the god of darkness and creator of the symbiotes, attempts to exert his influence directly on the monster to cause destruction the likes of which the world has never seen. But Godzilla is more psychologically powerful than he appears, and he rejects his assailant's mind control, preventing Venom from ravaging New York City. The struggle within Godzilla's mind gives Spider-Man enough time to retrieve a sonic blaster created by his enemy, the Shocker. But things take an unexpected turn...
Venom's character forever changed?
Peter Parker manages to separate Godzilla and Venom, but the latter has absorbed some of Godzilla's characteristics, such as his size, and now sports fangs and scales similar to his own. Faced with this enemy who copies him, the King of the Monsters blasts him with a blast of pure nuclear heat before returning to the ocean. But Venom hasn't said his last word...
The Symbiote bonds with Eddy Brock as he searches through the wreckage of the fight looking for a camera. The fusion between the two characters is called Godvenom, from the contraction of their respective names, and we then discover that Venom has retained some of Godzilla's power, becoming more dangerous than ever... And the best part is, he could soon return in a sequel!
