GTA 6: The game could be delayed again and this disrupts the video game industry

About ten days ago, Rockstar Games stunned players and fans of GTA6 by officially announcing the game's delay. Expected for fall 2025, the game was delayed by several months and now gives us a date for May 26, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

While we were slowly recovering from our disappointment, thanks to the game's second trailer and the first 70 images, we learn today that a second delay is clearly possible.

GTA 6: a new delay to the end of 2026?

After more than a year and a half of waiting, Rockstar Games finally lifted the veil on new information about GTA 6. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good at first. We learned on May 2nd that the game would not finally be released in fall 2025 and that it had just been postponed to May 26, 2026.

Then, we were treated to the second trailer, with the first 70 official images of the game, allowing us to discover the first characters of the game, the first elements around the story, the first locations of Leonida, the first activities and a glimpse of the fauna and flora.

Alas, no respite. And after this crazy week, back to reality: GTA 6 could be postponed once again. It's in a new report from Bloomberg that we learn the news and visibly, the situation surrounding GTA 6 is panicking the video game industry.

In its latest report, the media Bloomberg confirms that the delay of GTA 6 has caused a wave of panic in the industry with several studios that had already postponed their game from fall 2025 to spring 2026 to avoid GTA 6 and who now find themselves right in the launch window of the next game from Rockstar Games.

A major problem, because according to Bloomberg, the release GTA 6 to May 26, 2026 is clearly not a certainty.

So, another problem arises and many studios will have to make a daring bet:

• Maintain the release of their game in spring 2026, and hope for a new delay of GTA 6.
• Postpone their game once again to fall 2026, and hope that GTA 6 is not delayed.
