Next year, the Harry Potter universe will officially make its big comeback on the small screen with a new adaptation from HBO Max. And while the return of the young wizard's adventures is naturally enough to worry longtime fans, many are eagerly awaiting what this reinterpretation of J.K. Rowling's work has in store for us. This includes gamers, who could then get a first glimpse of what awaits us in Hogwarts Legacy 2 when it is released.

Although the game has not yet been officially announced by Avalanche Software, the existence of Hogwarts Legacy 2 has long been no secret. Indeed, in a particularly delicate period for Warner Bros. Games, it's not at all surprising to see the publisher looking to capitalize on its biggest commercial success in recent years. And as we learned last year from the company's former president, the game's plot is expected to coordinate with certain elements present in the series.
The question, however, remains what this actually means. As Hogwarts Legacy players know, the game's plot takes place in the late 1800s, well before the events depicted in Harry Potter. In fact, unless a significant time jump occurs in Hogwarts Legacy 2, it seems difficult to imagine how the storylines of the two works could correlate. And knowing Harry Potter fans, there's no doubt they'll be on the lookout for even the smallest detail.
An expanded universe on the way for Harry Potter?
Of course, for now, there's no precise answer on this subject. Even if, as we recently told you, a job offer published by Avalanche also seems to suggest that characters known to fans could appear in Hogwarts Legacy 2. So, will we be dealing with a plot taking place in parallel with that of the series? Or, on the contrary, a plot that delves deeper into past events mentioned by the characters in the show? Time will tell.
