Injustice 3 Coming Soon? It's Reportedly Leaked!

Last week, NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition, which, as the name suggests, brings together all post-launch content to date. In doing so, the studio seems to confirm what many fans feared: that the game's follow-up has finally come to an end a little earlier than expected following the disappointing results of the Khaos Reigns expansion. This could, however, turn out to be a blessing in disguise, as rumor has it that the studio is now working on... Injustice 3!

Injustice 3 currently in development?

At least, that's what we can deduce from the strange messages posted by MultiverSusie, a very reputable leaker. The latter, who made a name for herself by accurately revealing a lot of information about MultiVersus before its closure, actually tweeted the following over the weekend: "Closing MultiVersus is an injustice, then starting all over again is another injustice. Leaving me without any leaks is yet another injustice." We then note, obviously, the recurrence of the word "injustice" in the message.

But even more interesting, this tweet is accompanied by a second message, which is much more concise since it contains a simple number: "3". To summarize, we are therefore dealing with a first tweet containing three times the word "injustice", followed by a tweet itself emphasizing the number 3. Suffice to say, when we know the past of MultiverSusie, that it is therefore unlikely that this is a simple coincidence, and that it is rather a roundabout way of telling us that Injustice 3 is in preparation.

A complicated situation for Warner Bros

Of course, all of this obviously remains to be taken with a pinch of salt for the moment. As of now, NetherRealm Studios has yet to officially announce the discontinuation of the Mortal Kombat 1 sequel, nor has it mentioned the existence of any Injustice 3. However, given the success of the first two installments in 2013 and 2017, this could perhaps be a boon to Warner Bros., which has been in an extremely difficult situation since the commercial failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
