It's the end of the road for the Warrens. After three investigations on the big screen, the two parapsychologists are retiring. Before, and while they had the ambition to hang up their boots, the characters played by Vera Farminga and Patrick Wilson put their knowledge to work on one final paranormal case. Michael Chaves, the director of this fourth film, explains: “It’s the darkest thing we’ve seen in the saga.” Vera Ferminga adds that the “demon has a vendetta and it’s really, really very personal.”We’ll have to wait a little longer to learn more about it, as Warner Bros. is holding back on sharing a real synopsis.
A trailer very soon!
The video, in addition to revealing some plot details, also promises a trailer. It will arrive on Thursday and should offer viewers the opportunity to gather more information on the approach of the writers and director. For now, we’ll have to take Patrick Wilson at his word when he promises an “exciting and scary” story. The answer will come tomorrow with the trailer and September 10th in theaters for the release of The Conjuring: Judgment Day.
It remains to be seen whether this finale will also mark the end of the New Line Cinema cinematic universe. As a reminder, the Conjuring Universe includes the sagas Annabelle and The Nun as well as The Curse of the White Lady released in 2019.
