Kingdom Hearts 4: You'll definitely be in for a surprise

It's been a long time since Kingdom Hearts 4 has been announced, and it recently broke its silence with some juicy information, but also a message of patience. In its latest financial report, Square Enix announced a "three-year reboot" plan to ensure long-term growth. This means that the Japanese publisher shouldn't release any major titles until 2027/2028 at the earliest. In return, this implies that these should be well-polished to deliver the best possible experience. Despite everything, it seems that Sora and the Disney universe have something to tell us soon.

More news from Kingdom Hearts 4 soon?

Between FF7 Remake 3, FF9 Remake, and Kingdom Hearts 4, Square Enix has no shortage of big titles coming up. Given its new growth plan, we'll unfortunately have to wait a few more years before we see any results. Despite this, the fourth installment in the Final Fantasy/Disney crossover has been quite talkative lately. It seems likely that it doesn't plan to stop there.

On X.com, Ibs, Square Enix's influencer relations manager, shared this meaningful message: "For the love of all that is good, be sure to follow the franchise's official account as your only source for new information related to Kingdom Hearts 4." As if to add insult to injury, Daniel Nasserian (Director of Square Enix x Disney) responded with the following: "And sign up for our email newsletter" with an equally meaningful emoji.

Square Enix seems to be preparing something around Kingdom Hearts 4. As Summer Game Fest 2025 approaches, and knowing the good relationship its organizer, Geoff Keighley, has with the Japanese giant, it wouldn't be surprising if Sora and his friends made a notable appearance. Naturally, we should wait for potential news in the coming days or weeks to be sure. In any case, we expect an opening night "full of surprises," and Kingdom Hearts 4 could well be part of the party. See you on June 6 to find out.
