Mafia 4 is already offering free content to everyone before its release

The return of the Mafia saga is becoming clearer. Expected for August 8, 2025, Mafia 4 The Old Country has just been revealed a little more through a new trailer. This is an opportunity for publisher 2K to launch a special offer: in-game bonuses offered to fans even before the game's release. A welcome marketing move, but also a sign that the project is taking a different direction from its predecessors.

A deliberate narrative shift for Mafia 4

With Mafia 4 The Old Country, the Mafia franchise takes a leap back in time, well before the events of the very first game. The story takes us to Italy, in the early 1900s, for a more intimate plot, rooted in the mafia atmosphere of the origins. Contrary to what one might expect from a contemporary game, it will not be an open world: the title here opts for a linear structure, centered on the narrative and the characters. A bold decision in the era of long open worlds, but one that could appeal to those who prefer more condensed and scripted experiences.

Another notable point is that Mafia 4 The Old Country will be offered at a price of €50, well below the new standard of €70 or even €80 for major productions. More accessible pricing, which probably reflects the smaller size of the game, but also a desire to offer good value for money in a context where expectations are exploding.

A free item to unlock now

To mark the occasion, 2K Games is offering an early bird reward for players who create an account with them. Specifically, it is possible to obtain for free in Mafia 4:

  • The Garzia Tumulto racing car, available without time limit

A nice bonus, even if we don't yet know exactly how these objects will be integrated into the adventure. The absence of an open world suggests that they will be accessible at specific moments in the story, or perhaps as mission equipment. Nothing essential, but a little touch of customization that is always appreciated.
