Marvel: 6 Superheroes the MCU Can't Wait to Introduce

As Phase 6 of the MCU is about to begin with the release this summer of Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Marvel is going to make a big overhaul of its superhero roster, we take stock of these 6 characters likely to join the immense universe of the House of Ideas for the first time.

#6 Darkhawk

Very little known to the general public, Darkhawk is not the kind of character that we think of first to join the MCU in the near future. This son of a police officer and teenager who, after discovering an amulet, is able to transform into an android, has sometimes allied with Spider-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy, or the Punisher, in order to fight threats such as the Green Goblin. While it seems unlikely to see him in a mainstream movie, the character has his place in a more minor project, such as The Young Avengers (due to his age), for which rumors of a film are becoming more and more evident. It must be said that between Miss Marvel, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, and Cassie Lang, there is a serious new generation.

#5 Vance Astrovik

Another teenager from the Marvel universe. Vance Astrovik of Earth-616 developed telekinetic powers and joined the New Warriors under the name Marvel Boy, before becoming part of the Avengers under the name Justice (in the comics). Unfortunately for him, a planned series on the New Warriors with Squirrel Girl was canceled in 2021, burying hopes of a first live-action appearance. The Young Avengers remain, perhaps in a mentor role or via a cameo.

#4 White Tiger

The character of White Tiger has taken on several identities during his career in Marvel comics. Hector Ayala, Marvel's first Latino superhero, his sister Ava, and Hector's niece: Angela del Toro. These amulet-wearers, who possess superhuman reflexes and enhanced martial arts skills, are part of a generation that has been linked to the most famous superheroes, such as Daredevil and Spider-Man. Their Latino background represents great potential in the cultural diversity that Disney wants to infuse into its projects. After America Chavez (Xotchy Gomez), one of the three iterations of the White Tiger could well arrive in the MCU. Before the release of the series Daredevil: Born Again, a rumor suggested the appearance of Angela del Toro, which turned out to be false. But there is still hope for the future.

#3 Miles Morales

Certainly the character with the best chance of being adapted into live-action. The hero of the Miles Morales video game franchise and the excellent animated films Into the Spider-Verse has already been indirectly mentioned in Homecoming when his uncle Aaron Davis reveals that his nephew "lives here". But it is undoubtedly his growing popularity (thanks to the films and games) that could encourage Sony and Marvel to propel the superhero into live-action. Not to mention his Afro-Latino origins as a factor of diversity, and Kevin Feige's desire to explore other versions of the web-slinger, in line with Tom Holland's desire to pass the baton. In short, all indicators are green for a triumphant arrival in the MCU.

#2 Ghost Rider

A big first considering that the series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.S is not part of the MCU canon (a thorny debate that animates the community). After a canceled Hulu spin-off and a version played by Nicolas Cage in Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, both supervised by Sony in 2007 and 2012, the Ghost Rider could finally get his due in the very near future: in the next two Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars (whose release dates have been shifted), according to the very well-informed insider Daniel Richtman. Probably in a rebooted, younger version, with an actor other than Nicolas Cage. A way to bring a darker tone to the future of the MCU.

#1 Namorita Prentiss

Half-human, half-Atlantean, and a clone of her mother Namora, Namor's cousin, Namorita, is also a member of the New Warriors. Related to Namor, whom Marvel chose as a villain for the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and to her mother Namora (also in the film), the hybrid has a chance, now that her clan is integrated into the MCU. As a younger figure, the logical next step would be for her to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps in an upcoming Black Panther 3 currently being written by Ryan Coogler. We already know that Denzel Washington will be joining the MCU thanks to this third installment dedicated to T'Challa.
