Eiichiro Oda plunged Elbaf into darkness at the end of One Piece chapter 1149. For chapter 1150, the mangaka plans to go even deeper into the darkness with events that risk drastically changing the course of the battle, notably by revealing Imu's immense power.
One Piece 1150: Hell Unleashes on Elbaf
We went through all the emotions during chapter 1149. Scopper Gaban acted like a hero by defeating Sommers before being unfortunately eliminated by Gunko. To make matters worse, the Divine Knight was controlled at the very end by Imu, confirming a major theory surrounding the antagonist.
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 1150 JUST BELOW
The final panel showing Gunko/Imu in chapter 1149 was terrifying, and rightly so. With phenomenal King's Haki, he will knock out a good majority of the giants and children present on the island. Those who remain awake will then try to intervene... But this will only make the situation worse.
Dorry, Broggy and other giants attack Gunko/Imu, in vain. Thanks to a magic book, the latter manages to disarm his attackers and succeeds in wounding Broggy. Unfortunately for him and his faithful sidekick, this super-powerful character has other plans for them.
Since Elbaf has no king, Gunko/Imu intends to make Dorry and Broggy, the new rulers. Why? Well, to use a terrifying technique called "the Devil's Contract" that transforms Dorry and Broggy into demons, granting them great strength and immortality in exchange for a portion of their lifespan.
Like the devil himself, Gunko/Imu commands an army of demons at the end of the chapter, including giants the size of Oars and monsters created by Killingham to eliminate Jarul. Oda clearly isn't giving us a break, and for good reason: there won't be a break next week.
