The Google Pixel 10 is expected this summer, and a lot of information is already circulating about it. The latest comes from the American giant, which, as usual, has just leaked images of its future smartphone. These images confirm that we can expect a look that feels like déjà vu, reassuring for brand loyalists. On the other hand, an internal redesign could well redefine the user experience as we know it. At the heart of this announced transformation: the Tensor G5 chip, a true jewel in the crown, and an AI assistant called "Pixel Sense" that promises to make our phones even more indispensable.
The beating heart of the Google Pixel 10: Tensor G5, the promise of transcended AI
While the exterior design of the Pixel 10, seen during a commercial shoot, seems to be in line with its predecessors with its iconic photo bar, it is under the hood that the real magic should happen. Google will entrust the manufacturing of its Tensor G5 chip to the titan TSMC, adopting its 3nm engraving process. This strategic change is far from trivial. It suggests significant gains in terms of raw performance, but above all optimized energy efficiency and thermal management – points that were sometimes sensitive in previous generations.
But power alone isn't everything, and the Tensor G5 would above all be the spearhead of Google's all-consuming ambition in artificial intelligence. Expect improved AI capabilities, notably thanks to a revised and corrected TPU (Tensor Processing Unit), and an ISP (Image Signal Processor) entirely designed by Google, promising even more refined image processing. The slogan "Ask more of your phone," glimpsed during the famous filming, takes on its full meaning here.
Pixel Sense: your smartphone becomes your personal concierge
This computing power will be used to support "Pixel Sense," the new AI assistant that promises to be a real revolution. This new assistant will be able to anticipate needs based on habits, integrate information from Google applications (Calendar, Gmail, Maps) to offer contextual and proactive help, all of which will operate mostly locally on the device for greater responsiveness and confidentiality.
"Enjoy the most personalized experience possible based on your actions on your Pixel," promises Google, according to the description intercepted by Android Authority. If the promise is kept, Google could well transform how we interact with our smartphones.
The camera: between logical evolution and bold bets
On the photography side, Google seems faithful to its philosophy of navigating between continuity and boldness. The Pro and Pro XL models would retain their triple sensor configuration, and the surprise could come from the standard Pixel 10. Rumors point to the addition of a 48MP telephoto lens, a first for the base model, thus offering increased versatility.
However, this gain could come with a concession: the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle sensors could be similar to those of the Pixel 9a, potentially less powerful than those of the Pixel 9. Google would then bet on the power of its new ISP and its algorithms to compensate.
The software features would not be left out, with AI-assisted video editing tools and the ability to record 4K HDR videos at 60 fps.
A complete range and stagnant prices?
The Pixel 10 lineup is expected to continue to be available in four models: the Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, a Pixel 10 Pro XL for those who prefer larger screens, and a Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The OLED displays are expected to receive improvements, including increased brightness and better PWM control to reduce eye strain.
Pricing-wise, the latest rumors suggest that Google could maintain the prices of the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro. The current prices of the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro are 899 euros and 1099 euros respectively.
The Pixel 10 Pro XL could see its entry-level price increase slightly, due to the discontinuation of the 128 GB version. You currently have to pay 1199 euros for the 128 GB option of the Pixel 9 Pro XL and 1299 euros for the 256 GB version.
The pleasant surprise would come from the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, whose price could drop significantly. This is still only a rumor and we remind you that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold starts at 1899 euros in France. By lowering the price, Google would confirm its desire to try to democratize the foldable format.
The launch of the new range is expected for August 2025. It would coincide with the arrival of Android 16 and its new “Material 3 Expressive” design.
