After three weeks of teasing on social media, Realme has finally announced its two new smartphones: the Realme GT 7 and GT 7T. They replace two premium smartphones launched by the brand almost a year ago. And unlike the GT 7 Pro, the GT 7 and GT 7T are powered by two SoCs from Mediatek. What other advantages do these two smartphones have? Answer in this presentation.
Like Oppo, Realme disappeared from the French market for a few months. While some retailers continued to offer the brand's smartphones, these were often leftover stocks. However, over the past year, like its parent company, Realme has made a strong comeback on the French market. The Number series, the C series and the GT series are back, to the delight of those looking for a credible alternative to Poco and Redmi.

Over the past 12 months, we have had the opportunity to test several models from the GT range, the one where all the brand's most successful models are found. We first tested the Realme GT 6, a very powerful smartphone with a decent camera section, even good depending on the conditions. And the Realme GT 7 Pro, the first model with Snapdragon 8 Elite to be released in France. An extremely powerful phone for its price, but it runs very hot and consumes a lot of energy.
Realme launches two new premium smartphones: the GT 7 and GT 7T
A few months later, Realme decided to strengthen the GT 7 range with two new models. The "standard" Realme GT 7. And the Realme GT 7T. The first is a lighter version of the Realme GT 7 Pro sold at a much more aggressive price. And the second makes a few more concessions, in return for a price reduced by 100 euros. Despite this aggressive pricing, both products still benefit from a complete technical sheet. Here are the main elements:

Big power and a huge battery in the Realme GT 7
As you can see, two major changes have been made to the GT 7 compared to the GT 6: the battery, which benefits from carbon silicon technology to offer an increased capacity of 1500 mAh to reach 7000 mAh; and the arrival of the Dimensity 9400E, the latest high-end chipset from MediaTek, a less recent version of which you find in the Find X8 Pro. It is a very powerful SoC. It is served here by 12 GB of RAM, instead of 8 GB, certainly to bring more fluidity to artificial intelligence applications and demanding games.
The Realme GT 7T adopts a less powerful platform, the Dimensity 8400 Max, but it still retains enough power for all uses. The only real concession that might raise eyebrows for some users, especially amateur photographers, is the removal of the telephoto lens. Otherwise, the changes are minor. Both phones also feature beautiful materials: metal on the edges and glass or vegan leather on the back. The fiberglass used for the GT 7's case is mixed for the first time with graphene to improve heat dissipation.
The Realme GT 7 and GT 7T are priced between €650 and €800
Switching from Qualcomm to MediaTek has an immediate impact on the price of both smartphones. The Realme GT 7 and GT 7T start at €750 and €650 respectively. Expect to pay an extra €50 for double the storage capacity. Here are the prices for all possible versions:
- Realme GT 7T 8/256: 650 euros
- Realme GT 7T 8/256: 700 euros
- Realme GT 7 12/256: 750 euros
- Realme GT 7 12/512: 800 euros
Also note the existence of a more powerful version of the GT 7 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage: the GT 7 Dream Edition. Developed in partnership with the Aston Martin brand, this phone benefits from a specific, sleeker case, an exclusive green color, a graphic adaptation of the interface, and a beautiful box. It contains two accessories not found in the standard version: a charger and a protective case. It sells for 900 euros. And as always, stay tuned to Phonandroid for the full review of these two phones.
A connected accessory accompanied both smartphones: the Realme Buds Air 7 Pro. Sold for 139 euros, these TWS earphones benefit from a dual transducer for sound reproduction, noise reduction of up to 53 decibels, a latency of 45 ms, Swift Pair and Fast Pair compatibility, as well as a waterproof case (IP55 certification). The charging case is made of aluminum, which is rather rare.
