As we slowly but surely approach the Summer Game Fest period, rumors about the announcements that could be found there are naturally starting to multiply. In recent weeks, the return of Resident Evil has been the subject of numerous statements, with several sources indicating that Capcom could finally present the highly anticipated Resident Evil 9. A new opus which, if we are to believe new information, could also be released sooner than we imagine.
Resident Evil 9 release window revealed?
Indeed, while there is now less and less doubt that Resident Evil 9 should be released sometime in 2026, the period in which it could arrive still remains a big unknown. According to Andi from ScreenFire Germany, it seems that this will happen fairly quickly, as according to his information, Capcom is aiming for a release in the first quarter of 2026. In other words, between January 1st and March 31st, 2026. But this should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt for the moment.
To date, this famous Andi is not actually one of the recognized insiders in the community, which calls for the greatest caution. However, the fact that AestheticGamer recently confirmed that Andi was the only one to have shared real information about Resident Evil 9 so far still invites us to give him the benefit of the doubt. Especially since this coincides with the information shared by AestheticGamer, who mentioned that we could expect a relatively short period of time between the game's announcement and its release.
The big announcement is getting closer
Moreover, this would then be consistent with the schedule adopted by Capcom, which generally releases its Resident Evil games during the first months of the year. RE7 and RE2 Remake, both released in January, as well as RE4 Remake, released in March, can attest to this, for example. But we bet we'll have the answer to this question soon. Because if the rumors are correct, Resident Evil 9 should indeed be announced as early as June 6, during the Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley.
