The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge doesn't just have a slimmer design. It also features an exclusive camera feature not found on any other model in the range.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, which we recently got our hands on, was officially unveiled by Samsung a few days ago. This high-end smartphone stands out for its extreme thinness and its lightweight. It adopts a neat and premium design, while integrating technical elements from the S25+ and S25 Ultra models. 6.7-inch QHD+ display, 200 megapixel camera sensor, titanium chassis... its technical specifications are both solid and balanced. Priced at more than 1200 euros, it is positioned between the two other flagship models of the S25 series, with a more compact but equally ambitious approach.
According to initial information relayed by SamMobile, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be the only one in the range to offer video recording in Log profile with both the front and rear cameras. This feature is, however, present on the other S25s only via the rear sensors. The same goes for the previous generation (S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra), which only offers this option with the main cameras. This particularity therefore sets the S25 Edge apart in this respect.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is the only one that can film in Log with the front camera
Recording in Log allows you to capture an image richer in detail and with an extended dynamic range. This facilitates editing, particularly to correct colorimetry or apply effects in post-production. Without modifications, videos of this type often appear dull and desaturated. However, Samsung offers an option in the Gallery app to automatically correct colors, without using external software.
This exclusivity does not seem to be linked to a desire to compensate for the absence of an additional photo sensor on the Galaxy S25 Edge. According to initial analyses, Samsung simply ran out of time to integrate Log recording via the front camera into the other models at the time of their release. A software update should correct this in the coming months. It is even likely that this function will be generalized to the entire range with the future One UI 8.0 interface, based on Android 16, already being tested on several Galaxy models.
