Siri is finally getting smarter on iPhones, and it's thanks to Google

A Gemini-boosted Siri coming soon to iPhone?

With Gemini, Apple will be able to make Siri a little more useful and intelligent. The Apple brand had promised many new features for its assistant with iOS 18 and the iPhone 16 generation, but failed to meet the expectations it had created itself. Apple is even being sued for false advertising across the Atlantic, because the company widely advertised Siri capabilities that still don't exist.

Apple jumped the gun, probably wanting not to appear too far behind in the AI field by announcing options that are absolutely not ready. The company is clearly behind its competitors like Google, Microsoft, or even Meta. It is aware of this, since it already gives users of Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhones the possibility of connecting directly to ChatGPT rather than its own models.

The integration of Gemini into iOS will give consumers more choices, and hopefully more reasons to use Siri. In his testimony, Sundar Pichai specifies that Apple plans to add more third-party AI models to the iPhone. Gemini will therefore compete with ChatGPT and other services.
