Like every week, PC stores are competing to bring users back to their respective platforms. Until this Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 4:59 p.m., the Epic Games Store, for example, is offering two free games for everyone: the looter shooter Deadtime Defenders, and the original strategy title Touch Type Tale. As for Steam, the fastest were able to grab Asterix & Obelix XXL Romastered, but unfortunately, the stock of keys is now exhausted.

Free Steam content for a hyper-violent saga

By this weekend, trial versions of games will be available on Steam. In the meantime, Valve's store is celebrating the return of a cult franchise with a wave of free content. Does the BFG for "Big Fucking Gun" mean anything to you? Just before the launch of Doom the Dark Ages, gifts to personalize your profile are being distributed. For a few days, the platform is offering animated stickers, animated avatars, and even an avatar frame. However, unlike usual, you have to give a little of your time.

Usually, for this type of free content, you just have to go to the Steam Points store and collect them for free. But here, there is a condition. As with Twitch Drops, you will have to watch a livestream, in this case the one on the Doom the Dark Ages homepage. The viewing time is very reasonable, however, since these gifts will unlock after only 10 minutes.

How to get the gifts in Doom the Dark Ages and the rest?

To claim the free Doom the Dark Ages content on Steam, here's how:

  • Make sure you have an active Steam account, of course.
  • Go to the "Slayer Club Live" broadcast.
  • Watch for 10 minutes.
  • That's it! You'll have access to the items to customize your profile.

Along with this, another animated avatar, a metallic avatar frame, and a "Fuschia Tree Frog" sticker are being given away on Steam for the Creature Collection Festival. "Collect fantastic creatures and tame monsters, all while enjoying great deals at this festival that reminds you that (some) monsters can be tamed." As with every festival, there are free demos and promotions on games like Cult of the Lamb, Temtem, Bugsnaw, Digimon World: Next Order, and many more. Note that these Steam profile items can be obtained directly through the Points Shop, without having to watch a livestream or anything else.
