Since its official announcement on April 2nd, during the Nintendo Direct dedicated to the Switch 2, CyberPunk 2077 has been generating a lot of buzz. Indeed, the first feedback and analyses, particularly from Digital Foundry, were far from reassuring, announcing a very unstable game that would run at 1080p and 30FPS with drops to 540p and 23 FPS.
Following this, CD Projekt Red announced that the game was still in full development and that it would be greatly improved by its release on June 5th. We also learned that CyberPunk 2077 would be the first Switch 2 game to officially use Nvidia's DLSS. CD Projekt Red also promised that the fiasco of the PS4 and Xbox One versions when the game was released in December 2020 would not happen again.
Today, the Polish studio offers us a gameplay video that everyone agrees on and clearly reassures us about the final quality of the title.
CyberPunk 2077: a Switch 2 version that reassures
We therefore owe this first glimpse to the Japanese media Dengeki Fami. They had access to a demo of the game in docked mode with the best possible version of the game, in 4K. It must be said that the rendering is pretty good. Visually, it's clean, pretty sharp, and quite fluid.
So, of course, it's not at the level of the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S versions, but it still looks good and much better than on PS4 and Xbox One. Enough to reassure players a little while waiting for the game and console release on June 5th.
As a reminder, CyberPunk2077: Ultimate Edition will be available from the launch of the Switch2. The game offers its full version with the game and its DLC Phantom Liberty. The Switch2 will have some exclusive features like the ability to play with the joy-con and take advantage of the gyroscope to chop heads with the katana!
