On April 2nd, Nintendo officially announced its Switch 2, but that's not all. A few games made their first public appearance, as well as certain console-related features. Among them, few people remember Zelda Notes. Yet, it's a tool that should be very useful to future owners of the machine, and the games in the Breath of the Wild saga.
Zelda Notes isn't a new game at all. It's more of an application that will allow players to enhance their overall experience with the last two Zelda games. To enjoy it, you'll need not only a Nintendo Switch 2 but also, and most importantly, the Switch 2 versions of Breath of the Wild and/or Tears of the Kingdom. Only these versions are compatible with Zelda Notes, not the previous versions released.
Once you've gathered all these elements, all you have to do is get started. Zelda Notes offers 9 new features. Here's a quick summary of everything they support.
- My Profile: Find your game statistics.
- World Statistics: Compare your adventure to that of players around the world.
- Navigation Assistant: Having trouble finding shrines and Korugus? A navigation voice can now guide you. You can also access the completion rates for each explored area.
- Item Sharing: Drop items into the Zelda Notes box and share them with your community using the QR code generated by the app.
- Photo Studio: You can edit and share photos taken in-game more easily.
- Sweepstakes: Every day, you can try to win benefits to use in-game (restoring hearts or weapons, etc.).
- Amiibo: You can benefit from an additional use every five times an amiibo is scanned.
- Memories: Listen to the voice memories of Hyrule characters.
Exclusive to Tears of the Kingdom 👇
- Building Duplicate: Share the plans for your most beautiful constructions (thanks to Emprise) via a QR code. If you scan another player's, you'll get the plan directly in your game.
A Companion in Your Adventures
While some of these new features aren't necessary, others are very useful improvements to the Zelda experience. We're thinking in particular of sharing plans in Tears of the Kingdom, which will give millions of players the opportunity to have ever more incredible constructions in just a few seconds.
Please note that while Zelda Notes is completely free, it is not a standalone application. The features will be added to the main Nintendo Switch App, available on iOS and Android, and therefore accessible on smartphones and tablets.
