After months of teasing and anticipation, Samsung has finally revealed all the details about the Galaxy S25 Edge. Its size. Its thinness. Its weight. Its specifications. And above all, its price. A price that lives up to Samsung's ambitions. And this despite some concessions made to create the thinnest Galaxy the brand has created to date. Presentations.
The appointment had been made in advance: Samsung presented the Galaxy S25 Edge today, the latest addition to its high-end smartphone catalog. We've been eagerly awaiting this official announcement for several months, with the Galaxy S25 Edge making a notable appearance at the 2025 edition of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It was presented in a way that highlighted its main physical characteristic: the thinness of its chassis.

But, in February, Samsung refused to reveal the slightest technical detail. Today, Samsung has made no secret of the dimensions, weight, thinness, technical platform, camera configuration, battery, materials, available colors... Samsung has spared no details (which had, however, leaked on the Internet last week) on this launch which completes the range. But, unlike the Galaxy S24 FE, it does not complete it from the bottom, but from the middle. Because the price of the Galaxy S25 Edge is not as light as its weight on the scale.
The price of the Galaxy S25 Edge is proportional to its thinness
The recommended retail price of the Galaxy S25 Edge starts at 1249 euros. It is therefore positioned between the Galaxy S25+, from which it takes several elements, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, from which it also draws inspiration to justify the price difference. The Galaxy S25 Edge even has the luxury of being offered at a price close to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Here are the two prices with the corresponding storage:
- 256 GB of storage: 1249 euros
- 512 GB of storage: 1369 euros
So what does Samsung offer at this price? First of all, a very sophisticated design. The S25 Edge is the thinnest Galaxy ever developed by the company: 5.8 mm thick. It's not the thinnest "bar-type" smartphone in the world, certainly. But it holds its own pretty well. It's also very light, weighing only 163 grams. The materials are premium: titanium for the frame, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back. The camera module design is identical to that of the S25 and S25+. There are three colors: titanium silver, titanium blue, and titanium absolute black. Finally, the Galaxy S25 Edge is IP68 certified.
The Galaxy S25 Edge aims to be as powerful as the other S25s
Inside, Samsung has made every effort to minimize compromises. However, there are still a few adjustments that will displease some. The first concerns the battery: its capacity is only 3900 mAh. It uses lithium polymer technology, not silicon carbon. The energy density is therefore lower. Samsung promises a full day of standard use.
It's not a questionable choice. First, Samsung had to shrink the battery to accommodate wireless charging. Additionally, a vapor chamber was installed that was large enough for the SoC. Indeed, the SoC here is none other than the Snapdragon 8 Elite, in the "For Galaxy" version, like the other members of the S25 family. It's an SoC that heats up easily. And it heats up even faster in a very thin chassis with a titanium frame. Remember that titanium has a lower thermal conductivity than aluminum. This material therefore retains more heat inside.
The Galaxy S25 Edge does not have an optical zoom
The third concession to finesse: optical zoom. There isn't one. Which is now quite rare in a €1,200 smartphone. So you get a two-element module: a 200 megapixel main sensor taken from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with the same lens, the same stabilizer, and the same autofocus. This sensor offers a 2x "optical quality" lossless zoom. Some smartphones that sell for half the price offer the same thing... Here are the important details from this technical sheet:
- 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPO display
- Snapdragon 8 Elite processor For Galaxy
- 12 GB of RAM, 256 or 512 GB of storage
- 3900 mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging and 15-watt wireless charging support
- 200 MP main camera, f/1.7 aperture lens, optical stabilization and Super Quad Pixel autofocus
- 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, f/2.2 aperture lens, autofocus and macro mode
- 12 MP selfie camera, f/2.2 aperture lens, autofocus
- WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB 3.2 Gen compatible 1
- Nano-SIM and eSIM compatible
- Android 15 and OneUI 7
- 7 years of Android updates and security
Let's not forget Galaxy AI, of course: the S25 Edge will have all the artificial intelligence features of the other S25s. This includes Circle to Search, Gemini and Gemini Live, Now Bar, Now Brief, Best Pose, Audio Eraser, Retouch Suggestion, and more. The package is therefore complete. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 Edge start today (May 13, 2025) and will end on May 30, 2025. During these two and a half weeks, Samsung is offering buyers a storage tier: the 512 GB version at the price of the 256 GB version. Enough to motivate those looking for a thin and light smartphone. And head over to Phonandroid very soon for a hands-on with the smartphone, followed by the full review.
