The Kassos and Peepoodo studio unveils its first film and it promises to be a success

In the world of animation, it must be said that France has managed to hold its own. Whether it's animated series like Wakfu and Arcane, or feature films like Super Mario Bros. The Movie, productions from French studios delight audiences around the world. But in the face of these blockbusters that need no introduction, it would be a shame to forget other teams that, even if they are smaller, are no less talented. This is particularly the case of the Bobbypills studio, which may not mean anything to you by name, but has surely been the source of some of your biggest laughs.

Any fan of trashy humor and adult animation has already watched an episode of the web series Les Kassos or Peepoodo. Whether it's ruining our childhood by depraving the great figures of pop culture, or offering us sex education lessons like no other, the productions of the small French studio have never lacked tricks to make us laugh. After a successful collaboration with the ADN platform and the video game studio Motion Twin to adapt the game Dead Cells for the small screen, Bobbypills is aiming even higher and wants to invite itself to the cinema. But to do this, the teams will need the support of their fans.

A first teaser... and a Kickstarter

True to its limitless mentality, Bobbypills hopes to make its film debut with a most improbable production: JIM QUEEN in Search of the Chloroqueer. Since part of the public complains about the excessive representation of minorities in current productions, the French studio decides to go against the grain to offer us what promises to be the gayest film to date. If the play on words between “chloroquine” and “queer” in the film’s title wasn’t enough to give you the tone for this future gem, wait until you discover its teaser and synopsis:

Jim, a sexy icon of the Parisian gay scene, sees his life turned upside down when he contracts Heterosis, a strange virus that transforms gay men into heterosexuals!

He then loses his crown and sees his world turn its back on him except for his most loyal follower: Lucien, a young Twink in the closet. Together, they will have to travel the four corners of the capital in search of a mysterious remedy capable of curing Jim but above all of saving the LGBTQIA+ community from extinction.

But even if the first images sell us a show as unbridled and educational as Les Kassos and Peepoodo were, nothing is decided yet for the feature film. The Jim Queen project will not become reality without the help of a crowdfunding campaign. A Kickstarter will be launched on June 1st so that fans of the studio can support the project. But if we are to believe the success of previous campaigns of this kind, such as those carried out by Ankama for the last seasons of Wakfu, it's a safe bet that the charm of French animation will once again succeed in creating a stir on Kickstarter.
