The Last of Us 2 has been indirectly in the spotlight for the past month and a half. Naughty Dog's cult game is currently seeing fans gather weekly for the HBO broadcast of its television adaptation. To accompany the launch of Season 2 in early April, the studio has finally released the PC port. While it runs much better than the first installment, it still contains a few bugs. But the studio is on the ball with Nixxes Software, in charge of the project, as evidenced by the latest patch.
A major improvement for The Last of Us 2 on PC
Since its launch in April, The Last of Us 2 has been able to bring fans together. Fans who got a taste of the remake of the first installment in 2023 have waited two years. Now, they can finally enjoy this renowned sequel. Thus, 30,000 players jumped on it upon release. A month and a half later, the audience is still there, with an average of 8,000 to 10,000 people playing simultaneously every day, just on Steam.
However, The Last of Us 2 deserves some adjustments on PC. That's why Naughty Dog and Nixxes are back with a new patch (free, of course). The game is now moving to version 1.4. In doing so, it benefits from a major improvement in terms of graphics performance thanks to support for NVIDIA DLSS 4. Players will now be able to choose between Legacy and Transformer for their DLSS. What's more, those with an RTX 50 series card now have an option to limit the number of frames generated.
Patch 1.4 also introduces important fixes for The Last of Us 2. Several visual bugs have been addressed, including a more pronounced ghosting effect with the AMD FSR. This also applies to the flickering effects that appear when activating depth of field. Also, the display in ultra-wide format is now better managed. Even the gameplay receives optimizations. The update finally marks the restoration of haptic feedback via the DualSense controller when connected via Bluetooth. Overall, this is a more stable and efficient version that is available to you.
