The mystery ends, Samsung announces the presentation date of the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Edge

The Korean giant has chosen Monday, May 13 to shine a spotlight on its new gem. The presentation will take place during a virtual event, scheduled for 2 a.m. Paris time (or 9 a.m. in Seoul). This announcement was highly anticipated and puts an end to much of the suspense surrounding this model, whose existence had been confirmed last January, notably during the initial Unpacked event where it was teased as a "one more thing." It was subsequently seen several times, for example at MWC.

An ultra-thin smartphone, big ambitions

Samsung clearly displays its ambitions with the Galaxy S25 Edge. The company declares that this model "sets a new standard for what you can achieve with your smartphone" and that it "opens a new era of growth for the mobile industry". Samsung even calls it a "marvel of engineering" that combines "high-end performance with extreme portability." It's "much more than just a thin smartphone," adds the manufacturer behind the Galaxy S25 series.

Its spectacular thinness is its main feature, and the topic is likely to stir up debate with the likely arrival of a competitor from Apple. With its rapid announcement and the promise of offering a premium model, Samsung intends to gain the upper hand over the future iPhone 17 Air.

While the date is now public, several questions remain unanswered until May 13, starting with the official price of the smartphone. A persistent rumor, relayed by Roland Quandt of WinFuture, suggests prices starting at 1249 euros for the 256 GB version in France, rising to 1369 euros for the 512 GB. International availability is also raising questions, with a potential delayed arrival in the United States, but not in Europe. We expect to see it in three “Titanium” colors (titanium finish): ice blue, jet black, and silver.

Specs-wise, while Samsung has confirmed a 200-megapixel main sensor, identical to that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, other specifications are still circulating at the rumor stage, such as a 6.7-inch QHD AMOLED screen up to 120 Hz, a weight of 163g, a second 12 Mpx photo sensor (ultra wide-angle), or even a 3900 mAh battery. Battery life, in fact, could suffer from this extreme thickness of only 5.85 mm.

As for power, Samsung would not compromise by offering the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor as in the other Galaxy S25s. This variant of Qualcomm's chip stands out by integrating two cores clocked at 4.47 GHz, compared to 4.32 GHz for the basic version. In terms of connectivity, this model promises to support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Finally, it should arrive under Android 15 with the South Korean manufacturer's One UI 7 interface. Like the other S25s, it would be entitled to artificial intelligence functions with Galaxy AI.
