The Witcher 4 is clearly not coming soon, so fans of the franchise can console themselves with a brand new collaboration that allows them to dive back into the Witcher's universe. It was totally unexpected, and it should please quite a few people.
The Witcher is coming
So, Dead by Daylight continues to surprise with its collaborations. After Resident Evil, Stranger Things and even Attack on Titan, it's the turn of The Witcher universe to make its entrance into the game. The release is scheduled for June 3, 2025.
First of all, let's be clear, this is not a complete chapter. No new killers or survivors with their own skills. These are premium cosmetics, in other words skins to be applied to the characters already available in the game.
The Witcher fans will find several well-known faces, but in a slightly different form. Geralt of Rivia will be played by Vittorio Toscano, while Ciri will come to life through the look of Sable Ward. As for the other survivors, Kate Denson will take on the features of Yennefer, and Mikaela Reid will transform into Triss Merigold. Among the killers, the Knight will adopt the appearance of Eredin, the fearsome king of the Wild Hunt. But the real surprise probably comes from the Leshen, who takes over the Artist's body in a terribly successful reinterpretation of the famous forest monster.
A crossover that hits the mark?
This isn't the first time the game has focused on a simple visual transformation. The Witcher skins will be available individually in the in-game store. There will likely also be packs for those who want to buy everything at once. However, it's best not to wait too long: some content of this type eventually disappears from the store due to licensing fees.
The Witcher isn't a horror franchise by design. But its universe is dark, brutal, and populated by monsters. In this sense, it fits rather well with the atmosphere of Dead by Daylight. The Leshen, for example, is a perfect choice for a killer. And Eredin has nothing to envy from the other nightmarish figures in the game. What's more, this collaboration allows players to rediscover characters they don't necessarily use. If you've never played Vittorio, maybe it's time to give him a second chance... Witcher style.
