This fantasy saga, a rival to Harry Potter, will return very soon.

While the Harry Potter saga holds a special place in the fantasy literature of the 1990s and 2000s, it had its rival in another equally ambitious fantasy cycle, the final volume of which will be released soon.

J.K. Rowling has a formidable rival

Fantasy universes often brilliantly transport readers to worlds each more wonderful than the last. However, few achieve the success of Harry Potter. With a world of great richness, as much in its history and customs as in its fauna and flora, J.K. Rowling has achieved the feat of creating a universe capable of stimulating the imagination of 7 to 77 year olds. However, another contemporary writer has managed to create a world just as grandiose.

British author Philip Pullman achieved this feat with his series of novels His Dark Materials. We follow the adventures of young Lyra Belacqua and her daemon (a physical manifestation in the form of an animal of the human soul) Pantalaimon in a universe full of risks and wonders. A magnificent saga that was first adapted for the cinema in 2007 with His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass and a second in the form of a three-season series broadcast between 2019 and 2022, with His Dark Materials: His Dark Materials.

If the literary trilogy His Dark Materials was a real global success, Lyra's adventures continued with The Dust Trilogy and it is precisely this third and final volume that finally has an official release date. The British writer Philip Pullman commented on his Facebook page about this:

Only 164 days until the release of The Rose Field, scheduled for October 23! Who's counting down the days and has already pre-ordered it?

The release of this new chapter in the adventures of Lyra Belacqua is So, the original version is scheduled for October 23rd, and we can easily think of a translation by the end of the year or early 2026.
