John Walker, one of the members of the MCU's newest team, the Thunderbolts (also known by this other name), is a "failed Captain America," the polar opposite of Steve Rogers. Throughout the film, the character makes reference to the superhero he is a failed copy of: a line that wasn't supposed to appear and was added in post-production, much to Wyatt Russell's dismay!

This is one of the many easter eggs in Thunderbolts*, which can be found here: at the beginning of the film, the characters, who have not yet become a team, try to escape from the fortress of the O.X.E. in which Valentina Allegra de Fontaine trapped them. As Yelena Belova attempts to hack into a control panel, John Walker, a/k/a U.S. Agent, runs around her and blasts the panel with his shield, saying "To your left!" This line is a tribute to Captain America, as it is a phrase uttered by the superhero several times in the MCU and has become a cult classic. While this nod may have pleased Marvel fans, it wasn't initially planned, and was added in post-production...
A nod that wasn't to Wyatt Russell's taste

During an interview with our colleagues at EW, Wyatt Russell, who plays US Agent, revealed that this line was added in post-production, and that he didn't want to say it:
That's a line I didn't want to say. Jake [Schreier] felt we needed to say something in ADR [automated dialogue replacement]. It's a line that was recorded. It's not connected at all. It was just to fill a void.
The line, which serves as much as a nod to Steve Rogers as it does to Sam Wilson, doesn't have the same resonance coming from US Agent as it does from the Avengers, who use it as a friendly sign. John Walker delivers it as a curt warning, far from the cordial intonation of his superheroic "colleagues."
